Snowmobiler hits plow in Oakfield Township
OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP — Medical personnel responded to an accident in northeastern Kent County after a snowmobiler collided with a snow plow Friday afternoon.According to WZZM 13, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Van Hoose Ave. and Simpson Road, which is south of the intersection of M-57 and Montcalm Avenue. Dispatchers with the Kent County Sheriff’s Department told WZZM 13 the snowmobiler was conscious when authorities arrived on the scene. AeroMed had been put on standby as a precaution, but the medical helicopter was called off.
According to emergency dispatch traffic, the snowmobiler, a 52-year-old man suffered leg and rib fractures. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
