GREENVILLE — Greenville Public Schools Superintendent Pete Haines received high praise from the Board of Education’s annual review of his position.
Haines had his annual review presented to the board Monday during a special meeting on Jan. 28, which the board met in executive session to discuss the evaluation of Haines.
“We continue to give Mr. Haines our highest commendation for Greenville Public Schools,” the review prepared by the personnel committee stated.
In the evaluation, Haines was evaluated in three main areas — achievement (both teachers and students), solvency/sustainability and relationships.
“We confirmed with Mr. Haines that his time spent dedicated to educational advocacy is needed and very important at this time,” the review stated. “We feel that he has a handle on what is important and are very impressed with how thoughtful he has been with detailed vision and process.”
Board President Janet Ralph complimented the personnel committee on its job in putting everything together for the review.
“I hope we have adequately conveyed our appreciation for all you do,” Ralph said to Haines. “We appreciate you very much.”
Haines said he appreciated the dialog he received both from the review and at the board meeting.
