Cedar Spring man arraigned for October 2012 break-ins

STANTON — A Cedar Springs man was arraigned Thursday morning in connection with a series of breaking and entering complaints that took place last October in Pierson and Reynolds townships.

According to Det. Sgt. Thomas Goerge, of the Montcalm County Sheriffs Office, Keith Allan Ames, 25, is charged with one count of breaking and entering into a residence. He is being held on a $15,000 bond and awaiting further court appearances.

Ames is suspected of involvement in six break-ins in Montcalm County, as well as other thefts in neighboring counties. Sheriff’s deputies have identified and contacted all Ames’ alleged victims.

Ames became a primary suspect in the case after he was apprehended in Kent County on similar crimes.
