GREENVILLE — A local radio personality will appear on the Rachael Ray Show to have a small plastic-surgery procedure performed on her by a former Greenville resident.
Radio host Kara Stevens of M 106.3 will be on the Rachael Ray Show on Friday while Dr. Anthony Youn, a Greenville High School graduate, performs a surgery that repairs ear lobes.
“I am excited and nervous,” Stevens said before leaving for New York on Tuesday.
She said Youn, with whom she graduated from high school, was asking for people who had a ripped ear ring hole or a piercing hole needing repair from wearing large jewelry. She said one of her ear lobes did need repair so she contacted Youn.
“One thing led to another,” Stevens said. “He will be performing the surgery on the show.”
Stevens taped the episode with Youn on Wednesday and it is set to air at 2 p.m. Friday on WOOD TV-8.
Stevens said after the procedure she will have several stitches and will need to get them removed after she returns home.
Although this is Stevens’ first time on the show, Youn is a regular on the Rachael Ray Show to discuss plastic surgery.
According to his website, Youn was valedictorian at Greenville High School, and went on to graduate with high honors from Kalamazoo College. He earned his doctor of medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, then completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training at the Grand Rapids MERC Plastic Surgery Residency Program.
He completed an aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship in Los Angeles and then returned to Michigan to start his own practice in metro Detroit.
