2 women struck by vehicle during St. Patrick’s Day bar fight

DAY TOWNSHIP — A St. Patrick’s Day bar fight near Stanton resulted in two women being struck by a vehicle.

Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to The Thirsty Parrot Bar (Double Six Bar & Grille) on at 4680 N. Sheridan Road (M-66) in Day Township in response to a fight and individuals having been struck by a vehicle. The disturbance occurred approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

The disturbance began with an argument and a fight outside the bar. During the course of the event, two of the participants left in their vehicle. While leaving, two people were struck by the vehicle. The two people struck were a 50-year-old Stanwood woman and a 23-year-old Stanton woman.

The Stanwood woman complained of pain and was going to seek her own treatment. The Stanton woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Sheridan Community Hospital.

The other individuals involved in the fight included a 32-year-old Stanton man and a 33-year-old Stanton woman.

Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police. The case has been forwarded to the Montcalm County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
