Greenville fifth at own invite: The Yellow Jacket A team finished fifth out of 14 teams at the Greenville Invitational at the Links of Bowen Lake Monday when they carded a team score of 362. That was behind both Muskegon Mona Shores’ A and B teams and Grand Ledge’s A and B teams. Greenville got an 89 from Danny Bohner, a 90 from Jake Visch, a 91 from Brady McNeil and a 92 from Ryan Davis. The B team was led by Chris Ralph with a 95, A.J. Ebels with a 98, Jared Gager with a 102 and Mitch Timmerman wit a 105 for a team score of 400. Next match: at the pre-conference tournament on Wednesday.

Butternut eighth at Greenville: Butternut finished with a team score of 372 to take eighth at the Greenville Invitational Monday. They were led by 91s from Caleb Wyman and Isaiah Wyman, a 94 from David Crouse and a 96 from Dylan Kroes.

Tri County 11th at Greenville: The Vikings carded a team score of 414 for an 11th-place finish at the Greenville Invitational Monday. Tri County was led by Brady Heckman’s 91, followed by Michael Gryzen’s 100, Jared Aiken’s 109 and Jason VanDyken’s 114. Next match: at the Lakeview Invitational Thursday.

Montabella 13th at Greenville: The Mustangs shot a team score of 445 to finish 13th at the Greenville Invitational Monday. Their best scorers were Trenton Sabin with a 105, Parker Eldred with a 106, Michael Hyde with a 115 and Austin Garner with a 119. Next match: at the Lakeview Invitational Thursday.

Central last at Greenville: The Green Hornets finished 14th out of the 14 teams at the Greenville Invitational Monday, getting a 91 from Tyler Sleet, a 113 from Preston Giles, a 123 from Josh Mithcell and a 126 from Brett Johnson for a 453. Next match: at the Lakeview Invitational Thursday.

Belding 5, Comstock Park 0: The Redskins got a hat trick from Veronica Muniz and two goals from Tina Griffioen in beating the Panthers in the season opener Monday. Haylee Batzer had the only assist in the game. Goalkeeper Sam Parker made three saves for Belding. Record: 1-0. Next game: at Allendale Wednesday.

GR Kenowa Hills 2, Greenville 1: The Yellow Jackets were only able to get a goal from Sam O’Herron off a Quinn Heyboer assist in losing to the Knights Monday night in the season opener. Goalkeeper Sarah Brown made six saves in the loss. Record: 0-1. Next game: at Lake Odessa Lakewood Thursday.
