STANWOOD — The Lakeview Invitational was held on Saturday after being postponed on Thursday due to rain.
Held at St. Ives Golf Course, the teams still needed to wait for a thin layer of snow to melt before the tournament could begin.
Due to the change in date, only 10 of the original 16 teams were able to participate. That changed the event from match play to an 18-hole stroke play tournament.
“Weather conditions were extremely difficult as temperatures stayed in the 30s most of the day and the winds only added to the difficult conditions,” Lakeview coach Brian Corwin said.
Cadillac won the Blue division with a score of 356. Sparta followed with 369, Chippewa Hills 397, Tri County 445 and Central Montcalm with 450.
Saginaw Nouvel was first in the Gold division with 340. St. Charles was second with 366, Lakeview followed with 393, Montabella 406 and Reed City 417.
Match Medalist was Nick Ludka from Saginaw Nouvel with a 79. Brody Shiller (Saginaw Nouvel) and Dustin Pumford (St. Charles) was second with 81s, while Lakeview’s Jon Wandel and Chippewa Hills’ James Wilson each shot 84.
Lakeview’s Jon King shot 97, RK Boomer 101 and Kameron Gilbert 111.
Parker Eldred led Montabella with a 95. Austin Garner shot 102, Mike Hyde 104 and Dakoda Lobert 105.
Marcus Hall and Michael Gryzen led Tri County with 109s. Jacob Snarski shot 114 and Jayson VanDyken 114.
