Lakeview places 1st: The Wildcats continued its fine season with a first place finish at the CSAA jamboree at Royal Golf Club of Canadian Lakes on Wednesday hosted by Chippewa Hills. Lakeview shot 355, five shots ahead of Big Rapids’ 360. Hesperia shot 369, Chippewa Hills 376 and Reed City 391. Central Montcalm did not have enough golfers to complete a score. Jon Wandel and RK Boomer tied with 84s to lead Lakeview. Kameron Gilbert shot 92, while Ben Outman and Benett Tomandl each shot 95. Quote: “I am very pleased with the team’s effort today. We received a great rebound round from RK Boomer who shot an 84 after several outings where he has struggled. Belding shoots 181: The Redskins placed fourth at the O-K Blue jamboree hosted by Grand Rapids Creston at Lincoln Country Club on Wednesday. Comstock Park was first with 159, followed by Sparta (166), Coopersville (170), Belding, Allendale (183), Wyoming (209) and Creston (265). Grant Hansen led the Redskins with 38. Jimmy Conley shot 43, Ryan Hill 49 and Carter Kemmis 51. Next match: at Candlestone Monday against Lowell.
