FAIRPLAIN TOWNSHIP — A mobile home in Fairplain Township sustained damage Wednesday after a morning fire.
The Sheridan Community Fire Department was dispatched at 10:21 a.m. to 1736 Boyer Road on the report of a structure fire.
“We had got it contained to one bedroom,” said Sheridan Community Fire Chief Ed Lingeman. “There was significant smoke damage throughout the house.”
Lingeman said no one was home at the time of the fire, and no pets were injured either.
“(Firefighters) got a pretty good knock down on it when we got there,” he said.
The department was on scene for about an hour.
According to Montcalm County property tax records the home is owned by Robert Cusack. Lingeman was not sure if the owner had insurance.
