Man pulled from Crystal Lake on Fourth of July

CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP — A Perrinton man was pulled from Crystal Lake by bystanders around 12:23 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, the 18-year-old had fallen from his boat into the water and was unconscious. Several bystanders pulled the man from the water and began performing CPR.

Among the bystanders was a nurse practitioner and someone with life guard training.  Arriving on the scene, Montcalm County EMS personnel continued CPR as the man was transported to Carson City Hospital.

He was later flown to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. His condition is not currently known.
