OTISCO TOWNSHIP – The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in their investigation of a chilling armed robbery inside a local residence.

The robbery took place on Graceland Drive in Otisco Township on June 21 between 3 and 6:50 a.m. During the investigation it was reported that two suspects, unknown by the victims, entered the residence. Once in the residence, the suspects tied up the victims using duct tape. The suspects went through cupboards, closets, and drawers in the residence, stealing cash and other items. The victims were injured, but did not require medical treatment.

The victims describe the two suspects as one white male and one black male, both in their late 20s to early 30s. They are described as being tall with a stocky build, approximately 6 foot 3 inches tall and weighing between 200 and 280 pounds. Both of the suspects wore dark clothes and a black stocking hat. Both suspects were armed with handguns.

Witnesses’ accounts of the crime differ in the type of vehicle used by the suspects –  they could be on bicycles or driving a burgundy Honda. The investigation has lead deputies to believe that the suspects may be from the Belding area.

The Ionia County Sheriff’s Office believes this is an isolated incident and has no evidence to suggest that the general public is in danger. If you have any information on this robbery or the suspects, you are asked to call the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office at (616) 527-5737 or Silent Observer at (616) 527-0107.
