The Ionia/Montcalm Continuum of Care will be awarded an allocation by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) through the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program.

Public and nonprofit agencies operating in Ionia and Montcalm counties that are interested in promoting Housing First programming through prevention and rapid re-housing activities and who are currently active members of the Continuum of Care are invited to request an application.

Refer to the MSHDA Office of Rental Development and Homeless Initiatives Notice of Funding Availability and General Guidelines for the Emergency Solutions Grant document and the Exhibit 1 Continuum of Care Annual Planning Update, Oct. 1, 2013 to Sept. 30, 2014, document for specific guidance on organizations that are eligible to receive ESG funds, allowable activities, requirements for grantees and sub-grantees, as well as other detailed program information.

This document and the Continuum of Care’s 10-year plan to end homelessness can be obtained by contacting Continuum of Care Coordinator Jennifer Bouck. An allocation amount will be included with the application. Requests must be submitted by 11 a.m. Friday via email to ionia.montcalmcoc@gmail.com. The subject line should read “2013-2014 intent to apply.”

The Continuum of Care retains the right to accept or reject any and all applications made for ESG funds, at its sole discretion. Applications and final allocation amounts may also be modified in order to meet program requirements, with the concurrence of applicants.
