2-year-old falls from second-story window in Evergreen Township

 EVERGREEN TOWNSHIP — A 2-year-old child that fell from a second-story window Saturday is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office. 

At approximately 12:13 p.m. in the 4000 block of S. Vickeryville Road, officials with the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office and Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services responded to an incident where a 2-year-old had fallen from a window landed on cement.

The child’s mother had opened a window to speak to her husband outside when her attention was drawn to her child inside.It is believed the 2-year-old climbed onto a chair near the window and pushed the screen out allowing him to fall.

The child was crying when the ambulance arrived. The child was first transported to Carson City Hospital and then to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

The last report received was that the child had sustained minor injuries, was being held for observation at the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
