Lakeview 3, Newaygo 0: The Wildcats picked up their first CSAA win Wednesday night, beating the Lions 25-19, 25-19, 25-18. Sadie Massie had eight kills to lead Lakeview, Genevieve Moore had four aces and 18 assists and Estelle Molitor and Myranda Lake had eight digs each. Records: 6-8-5 and 1-2. Next match: at home for an invitational Saturday.

Big Rapids 3, Central Montcalm 2: The Hornets lost a tight match in five sets to league rival Big Rapids on Wednesday. Big Rapids won 25-27, 25-18, 25-14, 21-25, 15-11. Savannah Case had 10 kills and three blocks for the Hornets. Makayla Studley added 13 digs, eight kills and three blocks, while Hailey Hollenbeck and Ann Karwoski each had 14 assists. Record: 4-8-2 (0-3). Next match: at home Wednesday against Morley Stanwood.

CC-Crystal 3, Ashley 1: The Eagles got an MSAC win over the Bears Tuesday night by winning 25-20, 12-25, 25-18, 25-18. Leading CC-Crystal was Mackenzie Geister with 15 kills. Jaylin Fisher added 24 assists, two blocks and three aces and Sierra Assemany had 13 digs. Next match: at the Lakeview Invitational Saturday.



Greenville 3rd: The Yellow Jackets placed third at Wednesday’s O-K Bronze Jamboree hosted by West Catholic. The host Falcons ended the league winning streak of Forest Hills Eastern with a round of 184. Eastern shot 192. Greenville shot 196, Cedar Springs 205, Forest Hills Northern 218 and Northview 233. Henna Singh of Eastern was match medalist with a 39. Karli Didion led the Yellow Jackets with 47. Amanda Kerschen and Taylor Hansen each shot 49s, while Anne Hilt and Rylee Zayler shot 51s. Drew Johnson shot 53. Next match: at Egypt Valley Country Club on Monday for an O-K Bronze Jamboree.

Tri County fourth at Lakes 8 jamboree: The Vikings shot a team score of 210 for fourth of five teams at the Lakes 8 Conference jamboree Wednesday hosted by Spring Lake. The host Lakers won the event with a 177, followed by Fremont with a 203. Leading Tri County was Taylir Kral with a 43, Lyndsae Kranz with a 53, Baylee Zernia with a 54 and Lauren Corwin with a 55. Next match: at Fruitport for a Lakes 8 Jamboree Wednesday.

Greenville JV ties for first: The JV Yellow Jackets tied with Forest Hills Northern for top honors at Wednesday’s O-K Bronze jamboree the Huskies hosted, as both teams shot a 221 score. Tying for third was Northview and Forest Hills Eastern with 231. Caroline Willadsen led Greenville with a 51, followed by Lyndsey Bosanic with a 54 and Anna Wierda and Megan Ayres with 58 each. Next match: at Big Rapids today.


Cross Country

CC-Crystal second, third at jamboree: The Eagles took second place in the boys event at their own MSAC jamboree Wednesday, scoring 40 points to trail just Mount Pleasanat Sacred Heart (40). Ty Craig led the boys with a second-place finish (17:51), followed by Kolton Kavanaugh in third (17:53), Jeremy Bigford in eighth (19:28), Taylor Benevidez in ninth (20:07 and Tylor Coston in 18th (26:03). The CC-Crystal girls were third with 49 points behind Montabella (40) and the Irish (47). Kaitlin Beyer was the fastest girl (20:01), followed by Taylor Ward in fifth (22:03), Elizabeth McCrackin in sixth (22:18), Makayla Baker in 17th (24:33) and Karagan Kavanaugh in 20th (25:14). Next meet: at home for the Don Baese Invitational Saturday.
