3 arrested for unlawful entry of a Howard City home

HOWARD CITY — Three suspects were arrested in the 8000 block of Mackinaw Trail in Reynolds Township at 10:44 p.m. on Sept. 19 for unlawful entry of a home.

The Howard City Police Department was dispatched to the area when an alert resident noticed an unfamiliar car in the vacant home driveway and flashlights moving around inside.

Authorities arrived and confirmed the presence of subjects in the home. The Howard City Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeview Police Department. Police confronted the suspects who refused to exit the home until confronted inside.

The home owner was contacted and confirmed that no one should be in the home and wished to press charges. Tyler Barry, 20, of Howard City, Marcus Dekker, 19, of Howard City and Alyssa Miller, 19, of Rockford  were arrested and lodged at the Montcalm County Jail. They were arraigned in the 64B District Court and charged with Unlawful Entry.

A quantity of alcohol was also seized from the under-aged suspects.
