STANTON — Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a larceny from a building last Friday.

A neighbor to the building where this incident occurred, contacted a relative of the homeowner regarding a suspicious male and female subject on the property loading scrap metal into a vehicle. The relative contacted the property owner along with the Sheriff’s Office who responded to the scene. The man and woman were attempting to leave the scene as sheriff’s deputies arrived and apprehended them.

The deputies were able to determine, through witness interviews, that the couple had taken items from both the exterior and interior of the property.

Wyoming residents Connie Lynn Whitney, 37, and Gavier Madera Sanchez, 32, were arraigned Tuesday in Montcalm County District Court. Both have been charged with larceny under $200 and are currently out on bond.
