CC-Crystal 50, Coleman 48: The Eagles handed the Comets their first loss of the season in an MSAC-South Division game Friday night. Dallas O’Green had three touchdowns, including the game-winner, which was a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown. Coleman scored a touchdown with nine seconds left, but CC-Crystal stopped the two-point conversion to get the win. Robert Failing had 15 carries for 224 yards and a touchdown, Will Beedy added 12 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown and Rhett Pringle was 2-of-7 for 10 yards and a throwing touchdown. Records: 5-0 and 2-0. Next gmae: at Montabella Friday.

Vestaburg 63, Ashley 12: The Wolverines rebounded from a loss to CC-Crystal by hammering the Bears in an MSAC-South Division game Friday night. Keegan Ryckman, Mitchell Sellers, Christian Benevides, Jason Mertens, Keegan Taylor and Zach Johnston had rushing touchdowns and quarterback Austin Myers threw three touchdowns, two to Dewayne McKinney and one to Jared Hilven. Ryckman had just three carries, but for 88 yards to lead Vestaburg. Hilven also led in tackles with seven and Marcus Benevides with five. Records: 4-1 and 1-1. Next game: at MP Sacred Heart Friday.

Northview 23, Greenville 14: The Yellow Jackets lost the O-K Bronze Conference opener to the Wildcats Friday night, hurt by four turnovers. Ryan Davis threw a 92-yard touchdown pass to Carter Stephens in the first quarter and Kyle Swindell scored on a 60-yard run in the third quarter for Greenville. Swindell had 13 carries for 98 yards in the loss, while Stephens had two receptions for 95 yards. Records: 2-3 and 0-1. Next game: at home against Grand Rapids West Catholic Friday.

MP Sacred Heart 35, Montabella 22: The Mustangs were downed by the Irish in an MSAC-South game Friday. Alda Nava had a 25-yard field goal and Zach Taubitz had three touchdowns to account for all the Montabella scoring. Taubitz finished with 139 yards on 26 carries. Quarterback Brady Burrgren was 9-of-17 for 125 yards and an interception. The leading receiver was Landon Burns with four catches for 62 yards. Records: 1-4 and 0-2. Next game: at home against CC-Crystal Friday.



Lakeview 5, LeRoy Pine River 0: The Wildcats got goals from five different players in beating the Bucks in a non-conference game Friday. David Wheeler, Jacob Tannis, Nick Heath, Judd Girskis and Ernesto Valdes had the goals. Record: 7-6. Next game: at home against Tri County Tuesday.



Greenville JV 237, Rockford JV 245: The JV Yellow Jackets won a dual meet over the JV Rams Friday at North Kent Golf Course. Lindsey Bosanic shot a 55, Tessa Wiedenfeller added a 57, Megan Ayres carded a 58 and Natalie Nicholson had a 67 for Greenville. Next match: at the Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills Invitational today.
