Montabella 75, Ashley 8: The Mustangs got their first MSAC-South win of the season with a win against the Bears Friday night. Quarterback Brady Burggren ran for three touchdowns and threw for another, Zach Taubitz ran for three touchdowns and Landon Burns added another two for Montabella. Peter Taylor, Chase Murray and Dan Cutler had single touchdowns in the win. Burggren rushed seven times for 135 yards, Taubitz added nine carries for 74 yards and Murray added 11 runs for 63 yards for the Mustangs. Records: 2-5 and 1-3. Next game: at Vestaburg Friday.

CC-Crystal 51, MP Sacred Heart 49: The Eagles got a four-yard touchdown from Garner Cusack — his only carry of the game — with 29 seconds left in the game to hand the Irish their first MSAC-South loss since 2007. Robert Failing led CC-Crystal with 181 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns, followed by Will Beedy with 96 yards on 17 carries before being taken off the field on a stretcher. Rhett Pringle added 71 yards rushing on 8 attempts and a touchdown in the win. Records: 7-0 and 4-0. Next game: at home against Ashley Friday.

Coleman 56, Vestaburg 29: The Wolverines dropped an MSAC-South game to the Comets Friday night. Austin Myers was 19-of-34 for 279 yards and three touchdowns passing, Austin Blanks had eight catches for 119 yards and DeWayne McKinney added 121 yards on six catches and a touchdown. Jarred Stratton and nine tackles to lead Vestaburg. Vestaburg rushed for 113 yards. Records: 4-3 and 1-3. Next game: at home against Montabella next Friday.
