GRAND RAPIDS — Brian Brasser has been named Spectrum Health United and Kelsey hospitals president, effective Dec. 8.
Brasser is assuming this role from Christina Freese-Decker who was recently named senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Spectrum Health System. Freese-Decker has served as president of Spectrum Health’s United and Kelsey hospitals since 2011.
“Because of his unique experience and established relationships, Brian will be able to smoothly assume leadership of both hospitals and support the well-being of the communities they serve,” said Marc Chircop, a Spectrum senior vice president.
Brasser has served as the chief nursing officer for United and Kelsey hospitals since 2007 and chief operating officer at Kelsey Hospital since 2004. His accomplishments and contributions to both hospitals are numerous, including developing strategic and operational plans to ensure optimal services and quality care to all patients. Brasser is also actively involved in both communities and has built important relationships with local leaders that will strengthen communications and planning going forward.
Brasser earned a master’s degree in administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor of science in nursing degree from Calvin College.
