Boys Basketball

Montabella 50, Coleman 44: The Mustangs made a second half comeback over the Comets with a 37-22 finish on Thursday night. Chase Murray led the Mustangs with 15 points. Brady Burggren added 14 points and Cayden Nisonger nine points. Record: 1-1 (1-0). Next game: at home Thursday against Vestaburg.

Girls Basketball

Lakeview 55, Holton 49: The Wildcats jumped out to a 14 point first half lead and held on to win at home Thursday night against the Red Devils. Sadie Massie led Lakeview with 20 points. Record: 1-2 (1-1). Next game: at Newaygo on Monday.

Central Montcalm 57, White Cloud 41: The Hornets ran away with the game in the second half on Thursday against the Indians. Central outscored White Cloud 36-18 in the second half. Kaden Everingham, Ashton Bohen and Savannah Case each scored 13 points for the Hornets. Case grabbed 14 rebounds, while Bohen had seven steals. Record: 1-3 (1-1). Next game: at Big Rapids on Monday.

Belding 50, Zeeland West 45: With the game tied entering the final quarter, the Redskins outscored the Dux 18-13 to pull out the nonconference win on Thursday. McKenzie Breimayer led Belding with a game-high 22 points. Stefanie Harig added 12 points, while Monica Baylis scored eight. Record: 2-1. Next game: at Grant on Tuesday.
