CC-Crystal revenges loss to Sacred Heart

MOUNT PLEASANT — The Carson City-Crystal Eagles girls basketball team extended its winning streak to nine games on Thursday.

More importantly, the Eagles revenged an early season loss against the Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart Irish.

Sacred Heart defeated the Eagles 34-23 on Dec. 6. On Thursday, the Eagles earned a 50-23 road win over Sacred Heart.

The win moves Carson City-Crystal into a first place tie with Sacred Heart in the MSAC at 5-1. The two teams shared the league title a year ago after splitting both games, as well.

Mackenzie Geister led the Eagles with 16 points and eight rebounds. Makayla Duflo added 15 points.

The Eagles led 27-10 at halftime.

Carson City-Crystal improved to 10-1 overall, while Sacred Heart dropped to 9-5.

The Eagles will host Beal City on Tuesday.
