CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP — The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 20-year-old Crystal man for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
Deputies Saturday afternoon were called to a home on Gregory Drive in Crystal Township, where it was reported that a 37-year-old Crystal woman was assaulted and choked by her live-in boyfriend, causing nonlife threatening injuries to the woman, according to a press release from the Montcalm County Prosecutor’s Office. She was released from the hospital the same day.
The boyfriend was arrested at the scene.
The man is lodged without bond at the Montcalm County Jail on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. He is expected to be arraigned later today.
