EUREKA TOWNSHIP– A Greenville woman died shortly after midnight Sunday after her car hit another car head-on.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post responded to the accident around 12:26 a.m. on Wise Road near Shear Road.

Loretta Gardner, 34, of Greenville was driving a 2002 Buick eastbound on Wise Road when she lost control and her car crossed the centerline, colliding with a westbound 1999 Ford driven by Gabrielle Willadsen, 18, of Greenville.

Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Willadsen was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
