REYNOLDS TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old Newaygo woman was hospitalized after a two-car crash on West County Line Road near Gates Road on Saturday afternoon.

Deputies with the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office determined a 1998 Ford Taurus driven by the woman was traveling northbound on West County Line Road around 1:43 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, which crossed the center line and into the path of a southbound 2000 Ford F-150 driven by a 21-year-old Rockford man.

The woman, who was 32 weeks pregnant, was transported from the scene by Montcalm County EMS to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. She remained hospitalized overnight for observations and was released from the hospital the following day.

The Rockford man and his passenger, a 20-year-old man from Grand Rapids, were not injured in the crash.

Slushy road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash. All parties were wearing seatbelts.

The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, in addition to Montcalm County EMS, was assisted by the Howard City Fire Department.
