JUST IN: 3 injured in 2-vehicle crash near Greenville

MONTCALM TOWNSHIP – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash this afternoon near Greenville.

Officials from the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident that occurred on South Greenville Road north of Colby Road around 1:06 p.m.

The investigation revealed that a northbound 1999 Dodge Durango driven by a 67-year-old Belding woman failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she attempted a left turn into a private drive.

A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 74-year-old Stanton man was traveling southbound on Greenville Road and struck the Dodge Durango. A 47-year-old Stanton man was a passenger in the Silverado.

All parties involved were transported to Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services with non-life threatening injuries.

Everyone was wearing seat belts and speed is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The Belding woman was cited for failure to yield right of way.

The Montcalm Township Fire Department assisted at the crash site.
