Montabella second, CC-Crystal fourth: The Mustangs hosted the first MSAC jamboree of the season Wednesday and the boys finished second with 78 points, trailing Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart’s 105. The Eagles scored 60 points for fourth, just ahead of Vestaburg’s 33. For Montabella, Jonny Durham had four places, taking fouirth in the high jump (5-8), second in the pole vault (11-6), fifth in the shot put (36-10 ¼) and third in the discus (106-8). CC-Crystal got three places from Ty Craig, as he won the 3,200 (11:10.38), was third in the 1,600 (5:04.53) and was a member of the third-place 3,200-meter relay (10:23.00). Next meet: Montabella is at the Webberville Invitational Saturday, CC-Crystal goes is at the Ovid-Elsie Invitational Saturday.
Montabella wins MSAC meet, CC-Crystal second: The Mustangs scored 115 points to win the first MSAC jamboree Wednesday, followed by the Eagles with 90. Leading Montabella was Kenzie Garavey, who had four firsts. She won the 800 (2:36.41) and the 1,600 (5:35.09) and was a member of the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:37.69) and 3,200-meter relay (10:54.00) teams.
