Greenville residents will be able to drop off leaves, grass clippings and brush at the city’s compost site at 1150 Owen Mumaw Drive.
The yard waste disposal drop site will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from now until Oct. 11.
Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, will be required by the on-site attendant.
Bagged leaves and grass clippings must be in biodegradable yard waste bags only. Any yard waste placed at the curb or onto the street will be considered a violation and will be removed at the owner’s expense.
This week is also scheduled as a bulk item and trash pickup where large items such as furniture, appliances and mattresses will be collected by refuse services. These items are to be placed at the curb by 6 a.m. the day trash is collected. No tires, building material or hazardous material will be collected.
