NEWAYGO — The Chippewa Hills Warriors track teams took home both the boys and girls CSAA Conference meet titles on Tuesday at Newaygo.
On the boys side, the Warriors edged out Reed City 112-109.5. As for the girls, the Warriors ran away with the title with 246 points. White Cloud was second with 85.5.
The Lakeview boys were fifth with 50.5 points and Central Montcalm eighth with 34 points. The Lakeview girls were tied for seventh with 26 points, while Central Montcalm was ninth with 5.5.
Trevor Bacon and Drake Boomer were conference champs for the Wildcats. Bacon won the shot put (49-0), while Boomer the long jump (21-7).
Boomer was also second in the 200-meter dash with 24.32. John Torres was fourth (25.72) in the same event and Tony Seaborn fifth (26.07).
Kobe Perez was fifth in the 400 (55.38) and sixth in the pole vault (10-0). Peter Betten was second in the pole vault (11-0) and Jeremiah Ropeleski fifth (10-6), while Valentin Schmidt was sixth in the 3,200 (11:23.40) and Lee Frisbey sixth in the shot put (39-2).
Ahkarhee Pettway was conference champ for the Lakeview girls in the 100 (13.41) and third in the 200 (28.40). Penny Sapp was fifth in the long jump at 14-0.
Justin Reich was third in the 200 (23.74) for Central Montcalm and fifth in the 100. Joesph Baldwin was fifth in the 1,600 (5:02.10), Jaren Argersinger sixth in the 300 hurdles (45.08), Cory Kindlle third in shot put (41-5 1/2) and fifth in the discus (116-7).
Mackenzie Barnwell was sixth in the discus (78-3) for Central Montcalm and Kalie Beerman sixth in the pole vault (6-6).
Central Montcalm and Lakeview will compete next in the Division 3 regionals on Friday at Shepherd.
