CC-Crystal takes two from Fulton: The Eagles won both games of a doubleheader Wednesday against Fulton, winning 12-4 and 10-2. Jeremy Schneider was the winning pitcher in the opener, allowing four hits and five walks while striking out eight. Dallas O’Green and Chris Krukowski had two hits each in the win. In the second game, Arron Haines threw a complete-game one-hitter, striking out six, but walking eight. Garner Cusack had three hits while Spencer Harwood, Jordan Evans and Billy Fisk had two hits each. Next game: at St. Charles for Division 3 districts against Ithaca.
Lakeview, Hesperia split: The Wildcats lost the first game of a CSAA doubleheader to the Panthers 11-1 in five innings Thursday, but scored six runs in the top of the sixth to win 7-6 in game two. Calvin Englund was tagged with the loss in the opener, giving up five hits and four walks with four strikeouts in four innings. Lakeview’s three hits came from Jordan Stephens twice and Garrett Cavendish. Stephens came in to pitch in the fifth inning and got the win in relief, striking out three. Cavendish was 3-for-5 in the win. Record: 8-12 (7-9). Next game: at Newaygo Tuesday.
FHE 11, Greenville 6: The Hawks completed a three-game sweep over the Yellow Jackets on Thursday night. Kolton Dunham led Greenville with three hits. Calvin Syrjala took the loss. Record: 13-11 (6-9). Next game: at East Grand Rapids on Tuesday.
Central Montcalm 7, Big Rapids 4: The Green Hornets made up the second game of a doubleheader with the Cardinals Thursday and won, led by winning pitcher Mallory Morgan, who struck out 12 and gave up six hits and a walk. Makayla Studley had two hits for Central. Record: 19-10 (10-6). Next game: at Portland St. Patrick Tuesday.
Northview 8, Greenville 0: The Wildcats continued the Yellow Jackets’ scoring woes with a mercy Thursday night. Danata Paulino made 16 saves on the night. Next game: at Nothview for Division 2 districts Thursday.
