Baseball

Central Montcalm 0-2: The Hornets were swept in their regular season finale against Newaygo on Wednesday. The Lions won game one 7-0. Brandon Braman took the loss, while Bo Studley had a double. Cody Veltkamp took the loss in game two 6-3. Oryan Wetherington had two hits and an RBI. Record: 12-20-1 (6-12). Next game: at Lakeview on Saturday against Evart in the Division 3 district tournament.

Belding 0-2: The Redskins were swept by Lakewood on Wednesday 10-3 and 7-5. Record: 10-21. Next game: at home against East Grand Rapids in the Division 2 district tournament on Saturday.

Softball

Greenville 2-0: The Yellow Jackets swept the Wildcats on the road Wednesday night. Greenville won the first game 22-13 and the second game 16-1 in four innings. The two teams combined for 34 hits in game one. Sarah Newhouse earned the game one win. Nikota Howe had four hits and six RBIs. Emily Schnepp and Lauren Walsh each had three hits. Alecia Moore got the win in game two. Devon Tate had four hits and four runs. Howe had three hits including a three-run home run to end the game. Elizabeth Neimiec had two hits and four RBIs. Record: 18-16. Next game: at Northview against Rockford on Saturday for the Division 1 district tournament.
