MONTCALM TOWNSHIP — After the reported attempted abduction of a 15-year-old Greenville girl, police have released a composite sketch of the suspect.

The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the alleged attempted abduction near the intersection of Dickerson Lake Road and Greenville Road. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. last Friday, June 13.

As the girl was walking home from her school bus stop, a vehicle continually passed her until it stopped and the driver spoke to her.

Initially the driver was offering to give her a ride and when the girl refused, the driver ordered her into the car. The girl ran off into the woods. She eventually made her way safely home.

It is believed that the girl was not targeted but rather a victim of opportunity.

The vehicle is reported to be a silver, mid-2000’s Pontiac G-6 having a sunroof.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s to early 30s. He has brown hair with a military-style haircut and no facial hair. He was wearing sunglasses and a red T-shirt. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

A composite sketch of the suspect was created with the assistance of the Greenville girl.

Anyone recognizing the suspect or with information regarding the possible abduction is asked to contact the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office at (989) 831-5253 or the Tip Line at (989) 831-7593.
