CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP — The effort to move the Crystal Community Library to a more reliable facility has taken one step closer to reality.

At Wednesday evening’s Crystal Township Board meeting, board members voted 5-0 to approve a contract between the board and the Carson City Library Board, which manages the library.

The contract would establish an agreement to move the location of the library from its current facility on 221 W. Lake St. to the Crystal Township Community Center, located at 217 Park Street.

The contract was originally proposed by the library board, and after reviewed upon by the township attorney with some alterations, the board accepted the contract.

The library board can now either accept the contract and move forward with the move, or counter with additional alterations.

The board also voted 5-0 to approve the lease agreement to allow the library to be housed at the community center, after alterations were made by the township attorney.
