BELDING — With new facilities, from gymnasiums to auditoriums, comes the responsibility of maintaining those arenas and theaters to keep them preserved for future students.
At Monday evening’s Belding Area Schools Board of Education meeting, board members voted unanimously 7-0 to approve $11076.62 to refinish two of the district’s gymnasiums.
To preserve the stripping and integrity of the floors, the Belding High School main gym will be refinished at a cost of $7104.95 while the auxiliary gym will cost $3,974.67.
The board also voted 5-0, with board members Shannon Hummel and Doug Lamborne abstained, to allow reimbursement for a recent conference attendance by both board members.
Board members voted unanimously to approve the April school calendar as negotiations continue with the Belding Education Association teachers’ union.
Board members voted unanimously to approve the revisions to the district’s Elementary Student Handbook to be consistent with new NEOLA policies.
