IN BRIEF: Montcalm County Board of Commissioners organize for new year

STANTON — The Montcalm County Board of Commissioners held a brief meeting Monday to organize for the new year.

District 6 Commissioner Patrick Q. Carr of Lakeview remains chairman, while District 5 Commissioner Ron Retzloff of Crystal remains vice chairman.

All commissioner committee appointments remain the same for the new year, with Retzloff chairing Collective Bargaining, District 7 Commissioner Ron Baker of Howard City chairing Finance & Personnel, District 9 Commissioner John Johansen of Montcalm Township chairing Economic Development & Physical Resources, District 3 Commissioner Betty Kellenberger of Carson City chairing Law Enforcement & Courts and District 2 Commissioner Tom Lindeman of Greenville chairing Health & Human Services.

The board also approved the yearly meeting schedule, with most committee meetings taking place the second Monday of each month (times to be announced) and most full board meetings taking place at 1:30 p.m. the fourth Monday of each month.

All meetings are at the Montcalm County Administrative Building (old courthouse) in Stanton and the public is welcome to attend.

The next set of committee meetings will be Jan. 11 while the next full board meeting will be Jan. 25.
