CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP— The Crystal Township Board voted unanimously Wednesday evening for approval to offer a fitness class at the Crystal Community Center.

Diana Bailey of Crystal Township previously held fitness classes last year, and said she was inspired to hold classes again this year.

The program will be called “Fun and Fit,” and according to Bailey the classes will last approximately one hour, and be held three times a week now through September.

The sessions are tentatively scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

A nominal fee of $2 per participant, per class, will be charged with half of the proceeds given to the community center, and the remaining half going towards personal liability insurance for Bailey until it is paid in full (approximately $100).

Bailey said the classes will consists of a warm up, cardio, cool-down, resistance training, core and stretch exercises to “fun and upbeat music.”

Bailey is certified in CPR/AED from the American Red Cross and has certification as a Primary Group Exercise Instructor from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
