OTISCO TOWNSHIP — During Tuesday evening’s regular meeting, the township board heard an update from Ionia County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Lovato about the various calls the department took in the township in June.

According to Lovato, the department responded to two abandoned vehicles, three traffic misdemeanors, one hit and run collision, seven general agency assists, two breaking and entering calls, four civil matters, one drunk driving incident, one domestic assault and other crimes.

Lovato said the department also went out for four public relations calls, which means that the sheriff’s department and fire department went to festivals or other community events to talk to the public and to give people the chance to see inside police vehicles and fire trucks.
