LAKEVIEW — A prominent Lakeview businessman has been arrested and charged with six counts of criminal sexual conduct (CSC) involving six victims at his popular bowling alley, bar and restaurant.

Larry Cole, 46, was arraigned Friday in Montcalm County’s 64B District Court in Stanton. He is charged with six counts of fourth-degree CSC, a high court misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of two years prison and/or $500 per count.

Fourth-degree CSC involves sexual contact, but not sexual penetration.

According to the Montcalm County Prosecutor’s Office, all six victims were 18 or older. The time period of the alleged crimes is from January to April of this year at the Alley Cat Bar & Grill in Lakeview.

Cole opened Alley Cat Bar & Grill in December 2012. The 12-lane bowling alley was built in the early 1980s and has gone through several owners. When Cole purchased it, the former Lakeview Bowling Center had been closed for three years.

Cole transformed the interior of the building with knotty pine walls, USBC-certified lanes, a pro shop, banquet room, locker room, shoe rental, office space and a spacious restaurant and bar with full menu.

When Cole purchased the facility, he also relocated his other business, Larry’s Tire Recycling in Blanchard, to Lakeview and opened two additional Lakeview businesses, Central Michigan Tire and Wildcat Towing.
