SHERIDAN — After the Sheridan Village Council voted to switch to Republic Services for trash collection during the March 14 meeting, several residents received bills from Granger Trash Services going past the end of their contract.

Those residents included Village Superintendent Susan Wyckoff-McFarland and Councilman Steve Scott.

During Tuesday’s Village Council meeting, Wyckoff-McFarland said she received two bills from Granger and clarified that the “$32 one,” which charges for April and May, is the correct one to pay.

Wyckoff-McFarland contacted Granger about the bill and said she was one of several callers on Tuesday.

Republic Services’ contract starts June 1, and their first pick-up day will be on May 26. Granger’s last pick up day will be on May 24.

Starting with Republic’s first collection day, they will pick up trash on Fridays. Wyckoff-McFarland said residents will receive a letter explaining the switch and new services.
