Belding fourth, third at jamboree: The Redskins went to an O-K Blue Conference jamboree Wednesday at Comstock Park and gt a fourth-place finish from the boys and a third-place finish from the girls. The boys scored 76, which was actually a tie for third with Coopersville, but the sixth runner for Belding was 38th to the Broncos’ 32nd. Belding got a second from Trevor Curtis (17:40.58), an 11th from Sam Syrjala (18:10.66), a 23rd from Michael Albert (19:26.66), a 24th from Matt Feuerstein (19:40.27), a 25th from Tyler Gasper (19:42.22) and the tie-breaker was Royce Braman (20:47.36). The girls scored 76 also, ending up behind Sparta and Allendale. Teresa Myles was the Redskins’ best runner with a third (20:28.07), followed by Rachael Warner in 13th (22:05.32), Jasmine Harrison in 17th (22:45.22), Alexa Syrjala in 18th (22:45.83) and Carissa Stenquisst in 29th (24:03.71). Next meet: at the Sparta Invitational Saturday.



Holton 3, Lakeview 0: The Wildcats were downed by the Red Devils in a CSAA match Wednesday 25-14, 25-13, 25-21. Leading Lakeview was Estelle Molitor with seven kills and two aces, Gnevieve Moore with seven assists, Vaughan Martin with five digs and Mackenzie Oberlin with two blocks. Records: 1-4-7 and 0-2. Next match: at the Big Rapids Invitational Saturday.

White Cloud 3, Central Montcalm 2: The Green Hornets won the first two games over the Indians 25-22, 25-23 but lost the last three 25-23, 25-18, 15-4 to lose the CSAA match Wednesday. Makayla Studley had five aces, eight digs and three blocks for Central, Hannah Hollenbeck added 10 kills and Ann Karwoski had five aces and 11 assists. Next match: at Big Rapids next Wednesday.




Forest Hills Northern 8, Greenville 0: The Yellow Jackets suffered a shutout in at least one set in all but two flights in losing to the Huskies Wednesday. The two flights that weren’t pitched a shutout were No. 3 singles, which saw Greenville’s Peter Januzelli lose 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to Sean Jackson, and No. 1 singles, which saw Brandon Brom lose 6-4, 6-2 to Jacob Dennen. Next match: at home against Sparta Friday.




Tri County 3rd: The Vikings were third in the Lakes 8 Jamboree on Wednesday. Spring Lake was first with 161. Ludington shot 190, Tri County 212, Fremont 217 and Fruitport 237.

Greenville JV wins jamboree: The JV Yellow Jackets shot a team score of 218 to win the O-K Bronze Conference jamboree they hosted Wednesday. Forest Hills Northern was second with a 228 and Northview was third with a 251. Mariah Kash was meet medalist with a 50, followed by Megan Ayres with a 53, Lyndsey Bosanic with a 55 and Anna Wierda with a 60, Next match: at home against Rockford Friday.
