JUST IN: Howard City teen critically injured in single-vehicle rollover

Three area teenagers were hurt in a single-vehicle rollover crash Friday evening in Howard City Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to respond to a personal injury accident at approximately 5:37 p.m. Friday. The investigation revealed a 16-year-old female from Howard City was driving a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck west on Washburn Street just east of Sycamore Street. Upon entering the dirt section of Washburn Street, she attempted to fishtail her truck and lost control.

ROUNDUPS: Prep scores from Saturday, Sept. 20

Belding 1-1-2: The Redskins participated in the Williamston Invitational on Saturday. Belding went 1-1-2 for the day. In pool play, the Redskins defeated Lansing Christian 25-14, 25-23, split with New Lothrop 20-25, 25-17 and split with Fowlerville 25-18, 25-27.

Lakeview wins 3rd game, tops White Cloud

It was the Wounded Warrior Project Game at Lakeview Friday night, and the Wildcats honored the nation’s hometown heroes with a 37-0 victory over White Cloud. Wearing camouflage style uniforms sporting the school’s blue, gold and white colors Lakeview (3-1) dominated an undermanned White Cloud team to win its third consecutive game after a season-opening, one-point loss to Tri County.

Belding falls 49-13 in crossover

The offensive assault started early for the visiting Maroons of Holland Christian Friday night, as they scored a pair of touchdowns in four plays en route to a 49-13 victory over Belding. The Maroons scored on plays of 65 and 24 yards, the first coming on a run by junior David Williams and the second on a pass from senior quarterback Jared Stygstra to receiver Jake Kalkman to stake their team to an early 13-0 lead.
