Daily leads Tri County past Central Montcalm

After winning just its second game of the season earlier in the week on the strength of a Ryne Dailey double-double, the Tri County boys basketball team turned it into a winning streak on Friday night by hitting the Dailey “Triple” for a 64-56 victory at Central Montcalm. Just days after the Tri County senior went for a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds in a 75-72 victory over Fremont, he stepped out beyond the 3-point line to spark Friday night’s victory over Central Montcalm.

Greenville wins 3rd straight O-K Bronze title

The Greenville Yellow Jackets placed all 14 of its wrestlers en route to wining a third consecutive O-K Bronze wrestling championship on Friday night at Wyoming High School. Greenville scored 205 points to easily out-distance Northview’s 132. Cedar Springs was third with 130 points, while Wyoming finished fourth with 109, Forest Hills Eastern fifth (104.5) and Forest Hills Northern sixth (100).

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley stepped in as pinch-hitter to deliver the annual Michigan Press Association convention speech Friday on behalf of Gov. Rick Snyder, who is recovering from a blood clot.

The first phase of an $11 million bond renovation project has begun at Carson City-Crystal Area Schools.

In May 2014, voters approved the bond proposal, extending the district’s debt millage of 4.2 mills for another 15 years and nine months, allowing for security and technology upgrades and transportation and facility improvements.
