BREAKING: Man with lengthy criminal record arraigned for Nevins Lake murder

Alan Lee Morse, 48, of Sidney Township, was arraigned this morning in Montcalm County 64B District Court, on the charge of the murder of Alan “Dale” Nelson, a charge with a penalty of life in prison.

Two Belding men were injured in a serious accident shortly before noon today on M-91 just north of Candlestone Inn. Deputies from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident between Storey Road and Fisk Road around 11:48 a.m.

UPDATE: Missing Howard City man found sleeping at boat launch

A Howard City man who is slightly mentally impaired and diabetic was reported missing Thursday. Allen Russell, 51, was reported missing around 7 p.m. from his residence in the 300 block of Rathburn Street in Howard City, according to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department.
