Vehicle total loss after morning fire

Daily News/Kelli Ameling Mark Miller's newly purchased sports utility vehicle is a total loss after morning fire.

GREENVILLE — Mark Miller was driving his sports utility vehicle, which he purchased earlier this week, when it went into flames on Friday.

Miller, of Greenville, was driving on West Greenville Drive when he noticed smoke coming out of the vents

He said he pulled over and the smoke cleared. He began to drive again and not only smoke but flames also appeared

“I just bought it on Monday,” Miller said.

Pat Czanderna called 911 at about 8:15 a.m. after he came up on Miller’s vehicle on the side of the road.

“I knew it was not good,” Czanderna said.

Sgt. Gary Valentine said the vehicle was a total loss. Although the situation appears to be accidental, it is still under investigation.
