GREENVILLE – The Greenville Department of Public Safety has identified an early Saturday morning shooting victim as Frederick Neal of Grand Rapids.
Neal, 24, was shot multiple times and was transferred by Montcalm County EMS to Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville where he was later flown to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
He remains in critical condition.
Police responded to a call at about 12:20 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting at Flat River Inn and Suites located on Hillcrest Street north or Washington Street.
According to Sgt. Gary Valentine, witnesses who were in the hotel room at the time of the shooting were unable to provide any information to the police that would help with the identification of the shooter.
