No one injured in downtown Greenville building fire

Chris Myers was evacuated from his downtown apartment around 3:30 a.m. this morning after police told him the building next door was on fire.
Officer Mark Cole was doing a routine patrol on foot through downtown when he noticed smoke coming from the AAA Insurance building located at 210 S. Lafayette.

Derby Lake home destroyed in early morning fire

A Derby Lake home was destroyed in a fire early this morning while the owner was about 90 miles away. Stanton Community Fire Department responded to 704 Sunset Avenue at 5:38 a.m. today.

Grattan Academy closes due to illnesses

Grattan Academy is closed today due numerous illnesses by students and staff. The kindergarten through fifth grade school in Grattan and the sixth through 12th grade school in Greenville are both closed.
