Gun fired in Pine Township domestic dispute

A boyfriend and girlfriend in this mobile home on Briggs Road in Pine Township were arguing when a gun discharged on Wednesday.

PINE TOWNSHIP — Someone fired a gun during a domestic disturbance in Pine Township on Wednesday.
Montcalm County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Waber said a boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing in a mobile home at 5414 W. Briggs Road when a gun discharged.
Police are still trying to determine who fired the gun and why. Nobody was injured.
The girlfriend went over to a neighbor’s house after the shot was fired, then returned home before police arrived.
Neighbors went over to the house after the shot was fired and found the boyfriend with a rifle and several bullets, according to scanner traffic.
Police used a loudspeaker to coax the couple from the residence. The boyfriend, whose name has not been released, was arrested at the scene.
