GREENVILLE – Hansen’s Music House has been the go-to destination for music aficionados around Greenville for more than 60 years.

That will come to an end next year.

The small store with a big reach is closing, according to a post on its Facebook page on Tuesday. No date is listed, but the owners say a going out of business sale will begin “in the coming weeks.”

No reason was named for why the store is closing.

“We have fought the good fight,” the Facebook post says.

Hansen’s is best known for supplying area school band and orchestra students with instruments, supplies and repairs for more than 50 years. The store also stocks a selection of guitars, amps, keyboards, sheet music and percussion instruments, along with a private lesson program, according to its website.

Condolences from friends and customers are pouring into the store’s Facebook page.
