GREENVILLE — Grattan Academy is closed today due numerous illnesses by students and staff.
The kindergarten through fifth grade school in Grattan and the sixth through 12th grade school in Greenville are both closed.
“We’ve had a few kids with strep throat and a couple of kids with mono, but overall I believe it’s just the common cold,” said Administrator Tom Kreiner.
Kreiner said enough teachers were out sick Thursday that school officials decided to close today.
“We’re short-staffed and we just couldn’t find substitute teachers,” Kreiner said.
Both schools are expected to re-open Monday.
Anyone with questions may call the Greenville school at (616) 754-9360 or the Belding school at (616) 691-8999.
