GREENVILLE – A teen is recovering after being stabbed in the face during an altercation at the Wesco gas station in Greenville earlier today.
According to the Greenville Department of Public Safety, officers responded to reports of a fight at the business at Washington and Franklin streets at 4:21 p.m. Sunday. They found a 17-year-old male stabbed in the face and another slightly injured from the altercation.
The suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived. Officers Jamie Sorsen, Sean Parsons and Darren Jones tracked the suspect to his residence and arrested him without incident a “short while” after the fight, according to a press release.
The suspect is lodged in the Montcalm County Jail awaiting arraignment on Monday in 64B District Court.
Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services treated the stabbing victim at the scene. Family members transported him to a local hospital for treatment.
