Thieves break into Greenville Mobil, steal cigarettes

The Mobil gas station in Greenville was broken into and robbed late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. According to lead clerk Mary Mangus, the break-in at 115 E. Washington St. (M-57) occurred between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., when the store was closed.

Rescue workers respond to injury accident south of Greenville

Four cars collided, at least two head-on, just south of Greenville. The accident was reported just after 11:15 a.m. in front of Brad’s Cleaners at 9410 S. Greenville Road (M-91). Traffic is tied up in the area.

A smoldering cigarette likely started a fire in the bedroom of a Howard City home Monday evening. The Howard City Fire Department responded to a home at Kyle Ann Court and Tamarack Drive at Tamarack Pine Estates at 5:52 p.m.

Belding without power due to high voltage line down in river

More than 100 people are without power in Belding after a high voltage power line fell into the Flat River. The primary line fell into the river around 3 p.m. near York and Morton streets at East Riverside Park. Consumers Energy crews are on the scene attempting to repair it.

Greenville Department of Public Safety Officer Casey Huber pulled a 65-year-old man to safety from a second-floor bedroom window at 313 E. Cass Street in Greenville. Alleged shoplifter nabbed after short chase

A male who allegedly stole an Android phone from Meijer stopped after a short vehicle chase. A Greenville Department of Public Safety officer responded to Meijer around 4:55 p.m. Thursday. While en route, he saw a vehicle matching the description from Meijer employees in the area.

Police investigate break-in at Greenville’s Handy Market

Police are seeking a suspect in a break-in Tuesday evening at the Handy Market in Greenville. A customer found the glass front door smashed Wednesday morning. Interim Greenville Public Safety Director Gary Valentine said a rock was thrown through the door of the store.

At least 1 hurt in Montcalm Township pin-in accident

A man suffered serious arm and chest injuries after an accident in Montcalm Township around 4 p.m. Wednesday. A 51-year-old man was driving west on Wise Road in a Nissan Sentra when he pulled over onto the shoulder. He attempted to do a U-turn, but turned in front of a Honda Passport heading westbound.
