A man who absconded from prison entered an elderly couple’s home this morning, threatened them with a knife, assaulted the woman and then fled before being apprehended by police. The Mobil gas station in Greenville was broken into and robbed late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. According to lead clerk Mary Mangus, the break-in at 115 E. Washington St. (M-57) occurred between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., when the store was closed.
