One man suffered nonlife-threatening injuries after his pickup truck slid on ice and hit a tree around 7:30 a.m. today. Witnesses reported the man was attempting to pass on semi truck heading west on M-44 just west of Whites Bridge Road, where the road narrows from two westbound lanes to one.
A teen is facing three charges after an alleged stabbing at the Wesco gas station in Greenville on Sunday. Eric Tett was arraigned Monday afternoon on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and vehicle tampering.
Greenville Department of Public Safety officers are investigating a pair of accidents on M-57 on the city’s west side. The first accident at M-57 and Greenville West Drive has been cleaned up. A Ford Ranger heading west on M-57 hit a Ford Mustang on the side.
One person has been killed and another injured in a vehicle accident south of Lakeview. They were riding in a car north on Youngman Road around 12:45 p.m. today when the driver lost control near Almy Road. The car hit several trees alongside the road.
One is recovering after being stabbed in the face during an altercation at the Wesco gas station in Greenville earlier today. According to the Greenville Department of Public Safety, officers responded to reports of a fight at the business at Washington and Franklin streets at 4:21 p.m. Sunday. They found a 17-year-old male stabbed in the face and another slightly injured from the altercation.
The Greenville Department of Public Safety is investigating a reported stabbing at that occurred earlier this weekend. The incident took place at the Wesco gas station at Washington and Franklin streets. There is no word on how many people were injured or their condition.
Four cars collided, at least two head-on, just south of Greenville. The accident was reported just after 11:15 a.m. in front of Brad’s Cleaners at 9410 S. Greenville Road (M-91). Traffic is tied up in the area.
Police are searching for the man who allegedly robbed the Family Dollar in Greenville at gunpoint on Thursday evening. Greenville Public Safety Sgt. Dennis Magirl said the robber apparently walked into the store around 8:30 p.m. armed with a handgun and demanded cash. Employees emptied the contents of the cash register, then fled into the manager’s office in the back and called 911.
Four people safely escaped a house fire on High Street in Belding. A husband and wife were in the basement of their home with their two infant children around 2:15 p.m. when they noticed smoke.
A 7-year-old child is reportedly pinned under a vehicle after a rollover accident.
Montcalm County Central Dispatch is reporting the child’s entire body is under the vehicle except the head.
